January 22, 2008 - ACR Image Metrix, a for-profit contract research organization headquartered in the American College of Radiology Philadelphia office, will conduct a multireader clinical study to determine whether the addition of the iCAD Inc. CT Colon Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) system enables radiologists interpreting CT colonography images to detect more cancers than they would without utilizing the iCAD system in the image interpretation process.

ACR Image Metrix will work with iCAD to develop and execute a clinical study to support FDA approval of CT Colon CAD.

The Laptop model has a tray that safely stores a laptop and locks it out of sight. Maximum ventilation protects electronic equipment from over-heating.

January 21, 2008 – Wound care product maker Derma Sciences Inc. said it recently increased its direct-sales staff significantly, based on a number of new products that are finding favor in target markets.

The company said it only had two direct salespersons a year ago and now has nine, and will move to 21 by 2009.

January 17, 2008 - IntraOp Medical Corp. announced that the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center — James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (The James) — in Columbus, has successfully treated a liposarcoma patient using the Mobetron, which administers intraoperative electron-beam radiation therapy (IOERT) at the time of cancer surgery.

January 21, 2008 - NEXCORE Technology Inc. has licensed the intellectual property rights for the development of a new fluid management system for use during endoscopic surgery.

The company said the new system provides significantly greater control over the inflow/outflow of fluids during a procedure. NEXCORE is designing and developing the new system and will organize testing and FDA approval.
