February 28, 2008 - GE Healthcare IT will collaboration with Intel Corporation and Motion Computing on a mobile computing solution designed to eliminate the manual collection of patient vital sign data.

Slated for deployment at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center, the goal is to provide nurses with a mobile workflow that incorporates the Motion C5 mobile clinical assistant from Intel into vital sign collection using Centricity Enterprise in-patient electronic medical record (EMR) software and GE Healthcare's DINAMAP patient monitoring devices.

February 28, 2008 – Halifax Biomedical selected IDC’s X1590 as the DR component for an imaging product suite currently under development for conducting orthopaedic clinical trials for Roentgen Steriophotogrametric Analysis (RSA), hoping to create a system that will measure the stability of orthopaedic implants to a fraction of a millimeter.

The company, under a Canadian federal grant, will interface its calibration technology with IDC’s DR system and analytical software from Medis Specials of Holland, aiming to create the first standardized, fully digital RSA suite.
