Barco's Coronis 3MP is the preferred display system for grayscale radiology imaging, said the company. Featuring a resolution 1536 x 2048, it delivers optimum diagnostic precision and workflow efficiency in high-resolution PACS imaging, CT, MRI, chest radiology, angiography, etc.

Barco's Coronis 5MP display station has been engineered for very demanding medical imaging applications. The high-grade 5MP system offers film-like images with ultra-high resolution (2048 x 2560), high luminance and high contrast ratio. Furthermore, the 21.3-inch LCD provides image quality without pixelization, a wide viewing angle and perfect geometry, said the company. Coronis Color 3MP Diagnostic Luminance is reportedly a versatile, multimodality color display system featuring Diagnostic Luminance backlight technology. While most color displays are not bright enough for diagnostic grayscale imaging, the new Coronis Color 3MP Diagnostic Luminance provides brightness and DICOM-accuracy over its entire lifetime, said the company.

TomoTherapy Inc. has added to the TomoTherapy Hi·Art treatment system the TomoDirect discrete-angle delivery model.

This new technology allows Hi·Art system users to quickly plan and deliver advanced TomoTherapy radiation treatments with a series of linear beam paths, rather than the existing helical path, said the manufacturer. With TomoDirect, clinicians can choose several discrete angles and the optimal modulation level required for delivery, based on specific patient therapy goals.

August 7, 2008 - InnerSpace's Mini Harmony cart is now available, featuring small footprint (32 inches high, 24 inches wide and 19-11/16 inches deep) and optional front mounted keyless entry for patient rooms, exam rooms and under counter or cubby areas where space is limited.

The cart has 21 inches of linear drawer space including two 3-inch drawers, one 6-inch drawer and one 9-inch drawer. Drawers will accept InnerSpace's standard offering of trays and dividers.

August 7, 2008 - Emergent Group Inc, a provider of mobile medical lasers and surgical equipment, said its PRI Medical Technologies Inc. (PRI) subsidiary has entered an agreement to purchase the Surgical Services division of PhotoMedex, Inc. ("PHMD").

The PHMD division provides mobile laser services in 11 Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast states, serving 18 individual local markets expanding PRI’s geographic coverage to 16 states.
