August 6, 2008 - BioNanomatrix Inc., a developer of nanoscale whole genome imaging platforms for genetic diagnostics, personalized medicine and biomedical research, received a grant from the National Human Genome Research Institute of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop a nanoscale platform for single-molecule haplotyping imaging.

August 6, 2008 - Nexsan, a provider of energy-efficient long-term storage, and GE Healthcare IT have formed a joint alliance to provide systems for capturing, processing, storing and archiving images in hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

As part of the agreement, GE Healthcare IT has certified Nexsan’s green storage or energy efficient solutions with its Centricity PACS-IW imaging solution. The certified Nexsan products include the company’s SATA line of high-density storage solutions and Nexsan Assureon, a long-term archiving product.

August 4, 2008 - Intelerad Medical Systems signed a new partnership agreement with peerVue, in a deal in which PeerVue has integrated its qiVue solution with IntelePACS enabling PACS users to address regulatory, quality and communications issues.

August 5, 2008 - Philips Healthcare has developed a hand-carried cardiac ultrasound with reportedly advanced imaging quality.

The CX50 CompactXtreme hand-carried ultrasound system is set to commercially release in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to Philips.
