October 27, 2008 - TeraRecon Inc. is highlighting to its CT Colon package at the 9th International Symposium on Virtual Colonoscopy held October 27-29, 2008 in Boston, MA.

October 27, 2008 - SonoSite introduced SonoGT Global Targeted technology, an advance that capitalizes on the power of the M-Turbo platform to drive a new level of color flow imaging, wireless connectivity and workflow integration for anesthesia, emergency medicine, critical care and other acute point-of-care markets.

The new SonoGT technology platform offers the following capabilities:

October 27, 2008 - Visage Imaging Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercury Computer Systems, announced it will show new clinical applications and tools for 2D, 3D, and 4D visualization and post processing designed to offer more cost-effective, real-time medical image data processing with integrated enterprise 3D visualization.

October 27, 2008 - Philips Healthcare has begun shipping its compact ultrasound unit, the CX50.

The CX50 was designed for bedside exams, with technologies that reportedly provide premium image quality for clear, diagnostic data, even on technically challenging patients. The CX50 system can be hand-carried where needed, maneuvered on a specially designed cart or wheeled in a travel case.

GE Healthcare's LightSpeed Xtra is a wide-bore, multi-purpose CT scanner developed to meet the needs of a radiology department that is looking to do routine CT scans, interventional procedures, radiation therapy planning, or scan trauma and large obese patients

The Discovery CT750 HD is reportedly the first high-definition CT system, aiming to improve image quality across the heart and body with less radiation dose. High Definition Cardiac CT imaging enables clinicians to accurately quantify coronary stenosis, reduce cardiac radiation dose up to 83 percent on patients and reduce artifacts from calcium blooming.

GE's Senographe Essential is the digital mammography platform for the future. It allows precision imaging women in a single exposure or view. The enlarged detector easily accommodates large breast images without degradation of small breast images. Digital capabilities optimize workflow and connectivity, while providing 3D images and capacity for interventional mammography procedures.

The Voluson E8 advanced imaging platform takes women's health ultrasound to greater heights with it's advancements in image quality, automation, probe technology and image analysis.

Two applications on the Voluson product line geared towards women’s healthcare, include:
- Sonography-based Automated Volume Count (SonoAVC) automatically calculates the number and volume of hypoechoic structures in a volume sweep.

GE Healthcare boasts a range of technology for breast imaging used with the new MR750 3T, including VIBRANT, for bilateral imaging, BREASE, for breast spectroscopy, an 8-Channel Breast Array, with best-in-class signal-to-noise and better access for intervention, and a CADstream integration.

GE Healthcare says it is breaking the bonds of traditional magnetic resonance scanning with the introduction of its latest MR scanner, the Signa MR750 3.0T.

Equipped with powerful gradients, easy-to-use workflow features and the company’s advanced Thermal Management System, the Signa MR750 delivers up to 60 percent additional anatomical coverage and resolution unit per time. The system also allows for up to five times the imaging performance over previous generations, increasing the freedom for advanced application development.
