November 18, 2010 – A breast imaging software for use with digital mammography has received clearance from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

The RadPRO D2RS offers a highly versatile, three-in-one imaging solution to the RadPRO positioner family. Equipped with the Canon CXDI-50RF digital radiography (DR) unit, it provides dynamic digital remote-controlled fluoroscopy and radiography imaging capabilities for high-volume facilities. It can take up to 30 fps for fluoroscopy imaging and multiframe radiographic imaging up to 15 fps.

The RadPRO URS50RF, by Canon, is a hybrid RF imaging system. It features the company’s portable CXDI-50RF Dynamic/Static digital radiography (DR) system and utilizes its detachable cable for easy transport between patient rooms.

Agfa HealthCare announced significant worldwide price increases on all imaging film products, saying they are a logical consequence of the important price increases of raw materials over the past weeks.

Carestream announced similar price increases for its analog X-ray film products earlier this year.

November 17, 2010 — A five-year, $10 million grant supporting a leading-edge molecular imaging center at UCLA has been renewed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for a third cycle, bringing the total support for the center to $30 million.
