November 28, 2011 – Siemens Healthcare introduced its new radiography system, Multix Fusion, at the 97th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), November 27 to December 2 in Chicago. Multix Fusion is being developed to enable small and medium-size hospitals to deploy Siemens technology without overtaxing investment budgets. The system supports the full spectrum of clinical applications, but is much more affordable than comparable predecessor models. Multix Fusion features components that until now were offered only in the upper price segments, such as the height-adjustable, 660-pound capacity examination table. Thanks in part to its attractive service contracts, the system’s operating costs are also comparatively low.

November 28, 2011 – Siemens Healthcare launched the Acuson S3000, its latest ultra-premium ultrasound platform, at the 97th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), November 27 to December 2 in Chicago. The new system includes advanced automated ultrasound fusion imaging, as well as multi-modality review capabilities to provide additional clinical and spatial information in the analysis of complex pathology and/or when performing interventional procedures such as biopsies. In combination with its comprehensive suite of elastography applications, Siemens highlighted its new strain imaging application Virtual Touch tissue IQ imaging, reinforcing the company’s role as a leader in strain elastography imaging. Also at RSNA 2011, Siemens introduced the latest addition to its family of high-density (HD) transducers: the 8C3 HD transducer, specially designed for obstetrics and pediatric applications.

November 27, 2011 –peerVue introduces sophisticated voice recognition (VR) and reporting to its qualitative intelligence and communications system (QICS).  The new feature—the first ever free radiology VR application—is based on a custom-developed radiology language model for the Microsoft speech engine API.   It makes QICS a truly unique and robust platform, which complements picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) and radiology information systems (RIS), to fully automate radiology workflow, communication and report creation—from critical results, resident over reads and emergency room discrepancy management to radiation dose tracking—while supporting continuous departmental improvements and maximizing revenue.

November 27, 2011 – Siemens Healthcare has launched five new mobile solutions that help provide imaging specialists and referring physicians with secure access to diagnostic images and reports, both inside and outside the hospital. syngo.via WebViewer enables fast viewing of images with stunning graphics and syngo.via WebReport provides secure access to reports and images anywhere. Both syngo.via WebViewer and syngo.via WebReport are available for download from the App Store and are designed to operate on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. In addition to these advanced visualization solutions, Siemens has unveiled syngo Workflow Mobile, which delivers radiology information system (RIS) capabilities for technologists and radiologists to a variety of mobile devices and syngo Dynamics Mobile, which allows cardiovascular imaging specialists to extend their access to image and report review beyond the workstation to Internet-enabled devices; and syngo.plaza virtualized, which brings the acclaimed functionality and user interface of syngo.plaza to PC or Apple computers and mobile devices, even those operating on lower bandwidth networks such as 3G.

November 27, 2011 — Vital, a Toshiba Medical Systems Group Company and provider of advanced visualization and analysis solutions for healthcare providers, will represent the Healthcare and Imaging Informatics business unit of Toshiba Corporation (Toshiba) at the 97th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in Chicago (booth 8318, North Hall).
