CT Lung Cancer Screening May Be More Helpful and Effective Than Previously Thought

September 9, 2014 — Two new studies published online in the Journal of the American College of Radiology (JACR) indicate computed tomography (CT) lung cancer screening may benefit more people than previously thought and that the test can be made more effective by using the ACR Lung Imaging Reporting and Data System (Lung-RADS) to classify patient exams.

September 9, 2014 — An experimental regimen of once-weekly breast irradiation following lumpectomy provides more convenience to patients at a lower cost, results in better completion rates of prescribed radiation treatment, and produces cosmetic outcomes comparable to the current standard of daily radiation.
