Rayence Inc. announced that it has expanded its product offering for digital detector solutions to include digital radiography (DR) upgrade packages for analog portable X-ray machines. The packages include hardware that accommodates Rayence wireless digital detectors and is designed for an array of portable X-ray units including those manufactured by GE, Siemens, Shimadzu, Dynarad, MinXray and SourceRay.

A new four-year research study will determine the clinical usefulness and value of a brain positron emission tomography (PET) scan in diagnosing Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The $100 million Imaging Dementia – Evidence for Amyloid Scanning (IDEAS) Study — jointly conducted by the Alzheimer’s Association and the American College of Radiology (ACR) — will look at the value of PET in certain situations in detecting a core feature of Alzheimer’s disease.
