Neurostar will present enhancements made to its Virtual Radiology Network (VRN) designed to support ultra-fast workflow for radiology groups reading for multiple facilities and to provide a specialized platform for orthopedists.

The company will also showcase its Virtual Practice Management (VPM) suite, an optional VRN module providing tools for managing outsourced radiology services. Neurostar�s VPM includes radiology reporting tools such as digital recording, Web-based transcription, custom structured report templates and voice recognition.

Canon Medical Systems will spotlight its award-winning digital radiography (DR) systems and solutions, including the Canon CXDI-50 portable DR system that features a 14-by-17-inch image area with LANMIT (Large Area New-MIS Sensor and TFT) detector technology. Canon?s CXDI control software enables operators to capture images based on a department's specific imaging preferences. Canon optimizes DR workflow utilizing its program-imaging mode, a solution that integrates the RIS with CXDI software and utilizes the procedure Code ID of the RIS to configure the exam.

RIS Concepts Inc. will introduce its flagship RCI-RIS product, a multifacility, multimodality scheduling wizard that streamlines scheduling a patient for multiple exams by searching across sites to find the first available appropriate consecutive openings.
The RIS Concepts product line is designed to cater to a full range of the specialized needs and workflow of radiologists with a wide variety of working arrangements.

DR Systems will exhibit its latest Unity RIS/PACS, which covers the entire medical imaging exam workflow process, featuring enhanced integrated mammography reading, tracking, film digitizing and archiving, automated exam specific reporting capabilities and improved multidatabase and multiserver capabilities.

Other Unity RIS/PACS features include: management reports, EMR integration, image acquisition, technologist Q/C, automated report, preparation and distribution, dictation, voice recognition, document scanning, printing and faxing.

Intelerad will showcase its IntelePACS, a comprehensive enterprise-level PACS for hospitals, imaging centers and teleradiology practices.

IntelePACS now offers the DICOM Site License, allowing users to query additional PACS or any other external DICOM source using InteleViewer Enterprise, the native IntelePACS viewer that allows for spine labeling with 3-D coordinates, so labels can be seen in any other series at the corresponding position.

Carestream Health Inc. announced that it is now taking orders for its newest version of Kodak Carestream PACS that includes native 3-D and cardiac features and integrated applications including orthopaedic digital imaging for surgical planning and image fusion software for use by oncologists.

NEC Display Solutions will preview the NEC MultiSync 5-Megapixel Grayscale display, the 2.3-Megapixel Color NEC MultiSync LCD2490UXi and LCD2690UXi, the 2-Megapixel Color NEC MultiSync LCD5710 and the 2-Megapixel Color NEC Multeos Multi-Function monitors, at SIIM 2007.

Richardson Electronics Healthcare will display its Image Systems FP4200MED, reportedly the largest medically certified LCD available on the market with a 42-inch screen LCD, designed specifically for use in surgical suites, operating rooms, endoscopy suites, cath labs, emergency rooms and other specialty areas.
