RIS/PACS solutions provider RADinfo Systems has developed a new software program to allow physicians who are seeking consultative opinions regarding medical images to share critical, protected images through common email systems.

DICOMmail comes with a free Basic RSVS Viewer and allows a user to send DICOM images through email by simply dragging-and-dropping files, converting JPEG, GIF and/or BMP images into DICOM format, and then clicking send. The consulting user can view the images in the Basic RSVS Viewer after am Internet download of the DICOMmail application.

Fujifilm Medical Systems will showcase its Full Field Digital Mammography system, Fuji Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCRm). The FCRm multiple-reader offering presents mammography providers with various equipment configuration combinations. The centrally located Clearview-CS, multiplate reader serves several rooms, while the Clearview-1m, single plate reader can be installed right in the exam room.

The KODAK DIRECTVIEW Classic and Elite Computed Radiography Systems are compact, floor standing, single-cassette CR systems that can reportedly help improve workflow, productivity and patient throughput.
The systems, offering a modular design, are significantly smaller than other DIRECTVIEW single-cassette systems and reportedly incorporate the latest generation of CR software from Carestream Health. These systems use existing rigid cassettes to support general radiography exams, long-length imaging and dental applications as well as mammography exams.

AXIS V can be used by radiologists for reading and interpreting digital mammograms. Designed specifically for use in digital mammography and PACS workstations, the AXIS V product reportedly features industry’s best ambient light adaptability and delivers the highest quality diagnostic image.

The CereTom is a compact, lightweight, portable, high-speed, battery and wall powered multislice CT scanner optimized for scanning anatomy that can be imaged in the 25cm field of view, primarily head and neck, according to its manufacturer.
The system, acquiring eight slices per revolution, reportedly combines portability with detail and provides effective and flexible CT imaging at the point of care. According to its manufacturer, it is optimized for use in operating rooms, emergency departments, radiology departments, intensive care units and more.

Building on the foundation of GE Healthcare’s CT platform, the LightSpeed VCT XT is reportedly capable of capturing images of the heart and coronary arteries in as few as five heartbeats. With SnapShot Pulse, the LightSpeed VCT XT reduces a patient’s X-ray exposure time by up to 70 percent for diagnostic cardiac scans, using a process called prospective triggered gating.

The Toshiba Aquilion CT line’s product platform design reportedly allows for all customers to benefit from Toshiba’s Quantum Advantage, delivering the industry’s thinnest slice thickness at 0.5-millimeter isotropic slices, whether using an Aquilion 4-slice, 8-slice, 16-slice, 32-slice or 64-slice.
