Philips will feature its iSite Radiology, a complete radiology viewing solution designed to help users meet throughput goals. The iSite Radiology features real-time, enterprise-wide delivery of diagnostic quality images to support multiple locations and offsite users and a customizable, reportedly easy to use user interface and advanced workflow tools designed by radiologists to improve efficiency and increase throughput.

Tighter integration between the systems offer enhanced image access and scheduling/billing/process management for radiologists and administrative staff. Additional enhancements in these latest versions include an improved information NovaCentral support “command center” for real-time remote monitoring and referring physician features in NovaPACS to enhance image reading efficiency.

NightHawk Radiology’s Talon is a workflow technology solution that features intelligent image distribution which routes images to, and creates worklists for the appropriate doctor by using the speed and power of the Internet in a highly secure fashion. The Talon is a completely paperless system that is said to quickly and easily integrate into an existing practice, reportedly limiting administrative work and enabling radiologists to better track the number and timing of studies to maintain and evaluate proper staffing levels.

Neurostar Solutions will unveil its “PACS Insurance” program. By diverting a fraction of their PACS maintenance and upgrade costs, hospitals and imaging centers can now insure the safety of their patient data and access in emergency situations while eliminating future costly migrations of data.

Merge Healthcare will showcase a works-in-progress of its newest Fusion PACS MX solution that reportedly allows for specialty reading like mammography, orthopedics and PET/CT to proceed seamlessly within clinical workflow. Intelerad’s InteleViewer has a dual-mode viewing application included with IntelePACS, that reportedly offers rapid performance and intuitive interface for users.

New features for InteleViewer include freehand and volume ROI measurements, orthogonal measurement, Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA), thumbnail tabs for reportedly easy access to comparison studies, ability to save a study using DICOM Presentation State and real-time cine support for cardiac applications.

Emageon Inc.’s RadSuite Express PACS is a simplified Web-enabled, single-server solution based on Dell technology, created for the fast growing small to mid-sized hospital and clinic market, reportedly giving specialists and referring physicians in smaller facilities access to the same high-end, multidisciplinary 3D imaging tools used by radiology, orthopedic and emergency specialists.

CoActiv will introduce at RSNA its EXAM-RIS, a fully Web-based radiology information system (RIS), integrated with its Web-based enterprise EXAM-PACS. The New RIS includes single and multisite scheduling, multisite billing capabilities, patient information and charting (EMR), document scanning, transcription and more.

Cerner will introduce a new vision for the future of radiology workstations. According to the company, the Cerner ProVision Workstation uses the latest technology for speed and on-call capabilities. Using an ergonomically designed and intuitive interface, the workstation reportedly streamlines the radiologist workflow and increases throughput. The workstation brings interactive, dynamic viewing capabilities straight to the radiologist’s fingertips.

Carestream Health will demonstrate the latest features of its KODAK CARESTREAM PACS that includes dynamic streaming capabilities to enhance the rapid delivery of images to clinicians in on-site and remote locations. The PACS platform offers optional integrated applications such as image fusion, orthopaedic surgical templating, 3D imaging and advanced cardiac features.
