The CR Pro 2000 features a CR reader that is specifically designed for two markets: the OEM market, for use as a CR appliance with digital radiography and distributed applications for end users with smaller budgets. It is engineered with an upgrade path that provides all of the capabilities of the entire Radlink family of imaging systems.

The CR Pro 2100 is Radlink’s core CR product, based on a proprietary “sealed fiber optics” design that maximizes transfer efficiency in private physician offices where low-power X-ray equipment is common, according to its manufacturer.

The PCR Eleva family of Philips CR systems aims to increase overall working efficiencies in the radiography department.

The syngo MammoCAD was created for full-field digital mammography and the detection of masses and microcalcifications to help radiologists detect breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable form. The Merge Mammo is a multimodality, vendor-neutral mammography workstation application. As a works-in-progress, Merge Mammo 7.1 includes leading-edge support for 10-bit video cards. In addition, this application reportedly contains features such as support for 64-bit and Vista OS, more customization options for viewing and measurement tools, improved viewing protocols and support for 12-bit printing.

The Gammex Neonatal Chest Phantom is the first of a new class of phantoms and objective system performance tools for use in computed radiography and digital radiographic systems.

The Medipattern Corp. will announce seven new B-CAD products: six versions of B-CAD for breast ultrasound imaging, including B-CAD 1.2.1 and B-CAD 2.2 and one version for breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). Medipattern is reportedly the first and only company to cross the modality boundary, creating CAD products for breast ultrasound imaging and breast MRI from the same algorithm platform technology.

The Codonics Horizon XL Multimedia Imager is reportedly intended for printing long bone studies, scoliosis and pediatric and adult spines on long film for surgical planning.

RIS/PACS solutions provider RADinfo Systems has developed a new software program to allow physicians who are seeking consultative opinions regarding medical images to share critical, protected images through common email systems.

DICOMmail comes with a free Basic RSVS Viewer and allows a user to send DICOM images through email by simply dragging-and-dropping files, converting JPEG, GIF and/or BMP images into DICOM format, and then clicking send. The consulting user can view the images in the Basic RSVS Viewer after am Internet download of the DICOMmail application.

Fujifilm Medical Systems will showcase its Full Field Digital Mammography system, Fuji Computed Radiography for Mammography (FCRm). The FCRm multiple-reader offering presents mammography providers with various equipment configuration combinations. The centrally located Clearview-CS, multiplate reader serves several rooms, while the Clearview-1m, single plate reader can be installed right in the exam room.
