The new IDC X-Series CCD-based imaging detectors: X3G, X3C and X4C represent digital alternatives to traditional film-based X-ray for each level of healthcare that IDC currently serves.
The new technology reportedly provides higher sensitivity and amplified dynamic range and antiblooming for better image quality, reduced distortion and very low noise. The new Fujifilm Unity SpeedSuite is a U-Arm DR system designed with motorized, multiposition single-detector flexibility. It is a reportedly cost-effective DR solution that is capable of performing both table-based and upright procedures. The system includes Fujifilm’s intuitive IIP workstation. The Unity SpeedSuite requires FDA clearance and is not currently available in the U.S.

Carestream Health’s newest DR platform, the KODAK DIRECTVIEW DR 9500 has a ceiling-mounted U-arm that contains both a tube and detector to deliver mobility.

The system features operational flexibility and easily moves around the patient to facilitate patient positioning and to enhance technologist convenience and productivity, according to the manufacturer. It is ideal for a wide variety of general radiography procedures and offers enhanced speed and comfort to patients with limited mobility, says the company.

The Canon CXDI-50G DR system is reportedly lightweight and has a 14-inch-by-17-inch imaging area. This DR system is integrated with the RadPro 40kw Mobile X-Ray System and AMX-4 Portable X-Ray System, making it appropriate for bedside or post-operative procedures.

MUSICA, Agfa’s latest automated digital radiography image processing software, is now available for its entire CR solutions range. It derives from the image itself all of the parameters necessary for optimizing an image, without requiring any external information about image content, recognizes the signal characteristics of such regions and adjusts its processing accordingly.

The CR Pro 2000 features a CR reader that is specifically designed for two markets: the OEM market, for use as a CR appliance with digital radiography and distributed applications for end users with smaller budgets. It is engineered with an upgrade path that provides all of the capabilities of the entire Radlink family of imaging systems.

The CR Pro 2100 is Radlink’s core CR product, based on a proprietary “sealed fiber optics” design that maximizes transfer efficiency in private physician offices where low-power X-ray equipment is common, according to its manufacturer.

The PCR Eleva family of Philips CR systems aims to increase overall working efficiencies in the radiography department.

The syngo MammoCAD was created for full-field digital mammography and the detection of masses and microcalcifications to help radiologists detect breast cancer in its earliest and most treatable form. The system reportedly provides low rates of false positive marks with up to 40 percent of normal cases having no false positive detections at all.
