February 28, 2008 - GE Healthcare IT will collaboration with Intel Corporation and Motion Computing on a mobile computing solution designed to eliminate the manual collection of patient vital sign data.

Slated for deployment at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center, the goal is to provide nurses with a mobile workflow that incorporates the Motion C5 mobile clinical assistant from Intel into vital sign collection using Centricity Enterprise in-patient electronic medical record (EMR) software and GE Healthcare's DINAMAP patient monitoring devices.

February 28, 2008 – Halifax Biomedical selected IDC’s X1590 as the DR component for an imaging product suite currently under development for conducting orthopaedic clinical trials for Roentgen Steriophotogrametric Analysis (RSA), hoping to create a system that will measure the stability of orthopaedic implants to a fraction of a millimeter.

The company, under a Canadian federal grant, will interface its calibration technology with IDC’s DR system and analytical software from Medis Specials of Holland, aiming to create the first standardized, fully digital RSA suite.

February 28, 2008 – Effective Feb. 25, 2008, Jim Zierick joined the Aspyra team as interim Chief Executive Officer, a 25-year veteran of the technology field, and most recently the Chief Executive Officer of LogicalApps, a provider of embedded controls software for enterprise applications based in Irvine, CA.

While performing his new duties as interim CEO, Zierick will also remain a director of Aspyra, and in turn James R. (Skip) Helms, who took on the Chief Operating Officer role in Nov. 2007, will return to his role as Chief Operations Officer.
