February 27, 2008 – TeraMedica brought to HIMSS 2008 its Evercore SOAR (Service Oriented Architecture Repository) platform that operates as a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) by using industry-standard Web services protocols.

The Evercore Platform includes the Evercore Connector, which connects data and images, the Evercore SmartStore with clinical storage rule and an Evercore Distributor feature that serves all customers.

February 27, 2008 - Carestream Health enhanced its Kodak Carestream Digital Dashboard to include proactive notification for system events by email or text messaging, also supporting Kodak Carestream RIS/PACS and Kodak Carestream Information Management Solutions.

The system is said to let users monitor equipment performance, storage utilization and user volumes, from virtually anywhere, and also enables administrators to verify network communication of other vendors' devices.

RadStream is designed to reduce medicolegal risk by automating and documenting critical results communications. The product also automates prioritization of imaging exams based on a "most likely to interrupt" method, which has reportedly been shown to increase radiologist productivity.

February 27, 2008 - The Prevent Cancer Foundation's interactive Super Colon is scheduled to visit communities across the country that have the highest rate of colon cancer to promote National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, said the foundation.

The Super Colon is an inflatable, twenty foot long, 8-foot high replica of a human colon. The Super Colon tour will make a total of 22 stops throughout Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. In 2008, the Super Colon will visit a record number of cities, over 70 stops are already in the works, doubling last year’s number.

Developed and manufactured by MAKO Surgical Corporation, the surgical system reportedly offers patients less pain and rehabilitation.

Maurice R. Ferré, M.D., president and CEO of MAKO will showcase the new robotic system at the 75th Annual American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Conference (AAOS) at March 5-March 9.
