The ACCUVIX V10 includes 2D, 3D and 4D imaging technologies and features an articulating arm with a 17-inch, high-resolution, flat-panel display.

Technologies included in the system are speckle reduction filter, full spectrum imaging and DynamicMR, aiming to provide improved contrast resolution for more confident diagnoses.
The system also includes Sensitive Doppler performance, multiplanar imaging, 3D extended imaging, a multislice view, multiple oblique view and live 3D/4D.

The new AccuSITE transverse needle guide coupled with the use of ultrasound is designed to improve clinical confidence in line placement. The AccuSITE needle guide incorporates user flexibility and advanced features to increase productivity and first-time success rates during catheter placement procedures. Utilizing a two-part system, the AccuSITE needle guide consists of a reusable bracket and sterile snap-on needle guide.

Based on Zone Sonography technology, the z.one ultra system now features advanced software, hardware and transducer technology, including a new multi-transducer port (MTP). The convertible ultrasound platform aims to provide premium image quality and performance, together with greater portability. Clinicians are able to convert the z.one system from a full-featured, cart-based system into a compact ultrasound system reportedly without sacrificing image quality or performance.

The Vision 2008 upgrades to the Philips iU22 aim to bring expanded volumetric capabilities, new imaging solutions for technically difficult patients, new interventional tools and new approaches to improve workflow efficiencies.

SonoSite Inc. showcased its newly launched M-Turbo and S Series products, including the just released M-OB/GYN Office. The M-Turbo and S Series products are designed to deliver an increase in processing power for improved image clarity across all exam types, plus seamless connectivity for digital image export. Both product lines are backed by SonoSite’s 5-year warranty.

Acuo Technologies showcased the 6.0 version of its DICOM Services Grid solution, a distributed framework for managing medical imaging volume. By freeing the archive function from PACS, the solution reportedly allows healthcare institutions to own their own digital imaging data without data migration difficulties.

The latest offering of NovaPACS and NovaRIS 7.0 offers tighter integration between the systems, enhanced image access and improved scheduling/billing/process management for radiologists and administrative staff. Additional features in these latest versions include an improved information NovaCentral support “command center” for real time remote monitoring and referring physician features in NovaPACS to enhance image reading efficiency.

Carestream Health showcased new capabilities for its Carestream RIS and PACS platforms. New features for Kodak Carestream RIS include voice activated controls and voice activated standardized reporting to allow radiologists to dictate reports from any location.

Amicas demonstrated Vision Series PACS Version 5.5 at DHIMS 2008. Version 5.5 introduces enhancements to the RealTime Worklist, including role-based workflow management, said the company. Also included are extended Vision Watch reporting capabilities and new advanced high availability options.

Toshiba recently released its Infinix VF-I-SP, a single-plane floor-mounted cardiovascular system with multi-access positioner. Toshiba has also recently introduced new Advanced Image Processing (AIP). The AIP technology, which is made for its Infinix X-Ray product line, is designed to give clinicians better visualization of the smallest interventional devices.
