September 18, 2008 –Xoft Inc., developer of the Axxent Electronic Brachytherapy System, said today it will launch the Axxent Xpress Mobile Electronic Brachytherapy Vehicles to expand and improve access to critical radiation therapy.

The announcement was made in advance of next week’s ASTRO 2008 show.

September 18, 2008 - Accuray Inc. said it is offering a new layout for the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System treatment vault that will enable installation of the system into most existing conventional gantry LINAC vaults.

With this new, smaller footprint, hospitals reportedly will be able to save hundreds of thousands of dollars or more on construction and shielding costs and begin treating patients more quickly.

September 18, 2008 - At ASTRO 2008, CoActiv will introduce its new EXAM-RT Archive, a digital viewing, archiving and retrieval platform for a full range of radiation therapy-related data, including CT images, cone beam images, CMS radiation therapy plans and DICOM-RT data files.

The new functionality supports all seven DICOM-RT extensions and for the first time reportedly enables digital storage in a single unified patient information file.

September 17, 2008 – Integra LifeSciences Holdings Corp. introduced the EndoRelease Endoscopic Cubital Tunnel Release System.

The EndoRelease System will initially be marketed in the U.S. and will be featured at the 63rd annual American Society for Surgery of the Hand Meeting, Sep. 18-20, 2008 in Chicago. The EndoRelease System was designed in conjunction with Tyson Cobb, M.D, Davenport, IA.
