October 7, 2008 — Carestream Health unveiled new software for its DR 7500 digital radiography system designed to deliver greater user control over image display, more consistent presentation of images across soft copy and hard copy devices and enhanced image processing algorithms.

October 8, 2008 – Medical imaging company Barco has introduced a new version of its Voxar 3D advanced visualization product that integrates seamlessly into FUJIFILM’s Synapse PACS platform.

The new integration allows Synapse users to read their studies faster without major infrastructure investment and provides a five-fold increase in image loading performance, according to Barco.

Mammography is the gold standard for detecting micro-calcifications in the breast. Toshiba has developed a proprietary ultrasound technology called MicroPure to help identify and eventually characterize these micro-calcifications.
