One of the leading barriers to faster EHR adoption is cost, a factor the new bill aims to address by injecting the necessary revenue to build an EHR highway.



It is not uncommon for a woman to go in for a mammogram and leave with inconclusive results. This event is usually followed by a breast ultrasound scan, and if that exam renders more inconclusive results, the doctor may recommend a breast MRI.



Mammography is the one breast cancer screening test proven to reduce mortality, yet on many occasions, it still does not capture the full picture. Detection using the high sensitivity of breast-MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is very promising, yet it often casts too wide a net.
