February 22, 2011 – Radiologists who interpret a high volume of mammograms may not detect more cancers but are better at determining which suspicious lesions are not malignant, according to a new study published in Radiology.

RoentgenWorks now supports the Health Information Exchange (HIE) NHIN Gateway for patient and document discovery; document retrieval; and document submission. RoentgenWorks can store DICOM and HL-7 data from many different enterprises and it includes an MPI for acquiring a patient’s data whether it is stored locally or within an HIE. It also produces and acquires CCRs.

February 21, 2011 – TomoTherapy has shipped its 350th treatment system, which will be installed at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital (HKSH). In 2005, HKSH first treatment center in Asia to embrace TomoTherapy technology.

February 18, 2011 – Nearly 35 percent of all the imaging costs ordered for 2,068 orthopaedic patient encounters in Pennsylvania were ordered for defensive purposes, according to a new study. The study was presented at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
