June 3, 2011 - The commercial release of the ClearCanvas PACS Team Edition, follows the April release of the company's first commercial radiology workstation product. This picture archiving and communications system (PACS) release signifies the first commercial version of their DICOM ImageServer software, previously only offered as an open-source application.

June 2, 2011 – Today the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned women not to substitute breast thermography for mammography to screen for breast cancer. The FDA said some healthcare providers are promoting breast thermography on their websites and claiming it is superior to mammography as a screening method for breast cancer, because it does not require radiation exposure or breast compression.

May 26, 2011 - With the deficiencies in knowledge of tuberculosis--as well as in the practices, programs and strategies used to combat the disease and co-infection with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) – the spread of multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosis poses a major problem for the health care community. Research in the June issue of The Journal of Nuclear Medicine, however, shows that the use of 18F-FDG positron emission tomography (PET) scans can help to determine earlier if treatment for tuberculosis is working or if the disease is MDR.
