Telemis launched a new version of its popular picture archiving and communication system (PACS) software at the Journées Françaises de Radiologie (JFR) technical exhibition and congress, Oct. 16-19  in Paris.

Today, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) allows more gentle, precise and cost-effective heart disease diagnosis. However, the method has limitations when examining children and patients with cardiac arrhythmia. A joint project of the Fraunhofer Institute for Medical Image Computing MEVIS and the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry promises a solution for these limitations. Experts were able to accelerate the image acquisition process and expand the method’s applicability.

Mirada Medical Ltd has announced that its XD3 Advanced image review and analysis software is being deployed by Alliance Medical in partnership with 30 National Health Service (NHS) hospital positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) departments nationwide.

Overweight patients are more difficult to image using ultrasound because greater amounts of tissue weaken sound waves as they pass into the body, which hinders the ability to achieve high-resolution images. Carestream’s Touch Prime and Touch Prime XE Ultrasound Systems can provide deep penetration of the abdomen and other areas, which is especially important for large or obese patients. These newly designed systems also offer more uniform resolution over the entire depth of the imaged area.

Intelerad Medical Systems announced the release of their Technologist Portal. Integrated directly into IntelePACS (picture archiving and communication system) and InteleOne XE, the solution facilitates case assignment to technologists and allows them to add the information required to fill orders.

Logicalis Healthcare Solutions and strategic partner Ascendian Healthcare announced the initiation of a campaign to help healthcare organizations develop an effective enterprise imaging strategy.
