Prone Breast Positioner Expedites Treatment

November 2, 2007 – Civco featured its Prone Breast Positioner, which provides a prone positioning solution for both brachytherapy and external beam radiation therapy, at ASTRO 2007.

The positioner repositions the patient in the prone position from treatment to treatment. Proper patient positioning reportedly expedites the treatment process by properly aligning the treatment fields with a reproducible technique saving time in the treatment room.

It features cutouts on the side of the positioner to provide easy access to the breast and utilizes inserts with different curvatures and heights which move the healthy breast up and out of the treatment field and ergonomically cup the effected breast under the patient. A variety of inserts allow for customizing setups, providing effective positioning and repositioning, as well as comfort for every patient.
