May 16, 2008 - Konica Minolta introduced at SIIM, the ImagePilot CR, a new concept that provides an integrated digital imaging acquisition, review and storage solution specifically for physician clinics, aiming to simplify image acquisition.

According to the company, any physician clinic performing more than eight diagnostic procedures a day may now convert cost effectively, from film and chemical systems to high quality digital. ImagePilot CR system consists of an imaging station and a single bay Nano CR Reader. The Imaging Station can support additional client stations for viewing images in different parts of a physicians’ office. It has local archival capabilities and can also send DICOM image for radiologists’ diagnostic interpretation or to off-site storage.

The Nano CR is a single bay CR system engineered to make digital radiography more affordable in low-procedure volume facilities and ancillary departments. It includes customer maintenance features that will help to reduce department downtime, according to the manufacturer.

The system is available in two models. Nano CR—The Enterprise Solution utilizes the same easy-to-use interface as Konica Minolta’s flagship Xpress CR to provide sophisticated software tools for superior image quality and customization, while requiring fewer steps to complete the exam. Nano CR—The Clinic Solution uses the same intelligent and automated software as the IQue CR, resulting in minimized user training requirements in addition to delivering consistently high quality images, according to the manufacturer.
