August 2, 2022 —   The American College of Radiology (ACR) Center for Research and Innovation (CRI) will serve as the operations center for the new Alzheimer’s Network for Treatment and Diagnostics (ALZ-NET) announced August 1 at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2022.

ACR Neuroradiology Research Committee Chair Christopher T. Whitlow, MD, PhD, MHA, is a co-investigator for ALZ-NET, which will collect long-term clinical and safety data from patients treated with FDA-approved Alzheimer’s disease (AD) therapies.

ACR CRI will also provide guidance, education and best practices in imaging care for dementia and AD patients. Imaging serves a pivotal role in AD diagnosis and routine safety monitoring of AD therapy patients.

Clinical dementia care sites will participate directly in ALZ-NET. Imaging facilities will provide optimal imaging care to patients and thorough reporting to treating clinicians.

ALZ-NET partner organizations include the Alzheimer's Association, the ACR, Critical Path Institute, Department of Biostatistics at Brown University School of Public Health and the American Society of Neuroradiology, along with other clinical research and imaging experts.
