May 3, 2012 — When 300 of the nation’s top college football players converged on Indianapolis in February for the National Football League (NFL) Scouting Combine, they were evaluated with one of the most advanced, wireless digital radiography systems available today — the Aero DR.
Few imaging market segments have seen as much activity in the past six to nine months as digital radiography (DR) has. Comprising everything from retrofit kits to full suites — with a score of wireless options — the marketplace is filled with vendors improving old systems, introducing new ones and getting their products into more healthcare providers’ hands.
February 16, 2012 — Konica Minolta announced that the Aero DR Wireless 17-x 17-inch flat panel detector (FPD) has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance. It is the world’s first, wireless 17-x17-inch FPD weighing only 7.92 pounds.

November 7, 2011 — Konica Minolta’s new portable X-ray upgrade kit efficiently turns portable X-ray systems into digital, wireless solutions. The ImagePilot Sigma digital radiography (DR) solution can now be combined with Informity — Konica Minolta’s cloud-based archive, disaster recovery, image sharing and information portal solution. With Informity, users can collaborate with referring physicians and other specialists, receive remote support including software updates and virus protection and access service and support history and status.
The lightweight, wireless Aero DR plate is now available as a 17 x 17 inch plate. The flat panel detector incorporates Konica Minolta’s cesium iodide (CsI) scintillator, which boasts ultra-high detector quantum efficiency (DQE) for high-quality images even with minimum X-ray dose exposure. By combining the CsI panel and Konica Minolta’s image processing technology from its top-rated REGIUS systems, the Aero DR assures end users of consistent and reliable high quality imaging. The detector design fits existing wall stands and bucky trays without modifications to help a facility maximize its investment in existing equipment and deliver a universal fit solution.
September 13, 2011 – Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced the Aero DR Wireless system has received clearance from Health Canada, making the system available for sale in Canada. The system is designed and developed exclusively by Konica Minolta and offers end users the ability to provide reduced patient dose while increasing image quality and maintaining patient care.
August 25, 2011 — Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced the implementation of the wireless Aero digital radiography (DR) system at Sanford Health, the largest, rural, non-profit healthcare system in the United States.
