Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced that the 14-by-51-inch long-length cassette assembly for use with the Xpress CR and IQue CR systems is available. The long-length cassette assemblies are designed for digital capture of full-length leg and full-length spine of patients taller than 6 ft. 6 inches with a single exposure.

Sectra MicroDose Mammography is in full clinical operation and can maximize image quality, increase throughput and minimize radiation exposure for an ever-growing installed base.
The company reportedly offers a total mammography solution, including a mammography stand, a PACS dedicated to breast imaging, a distinctive integration capability with information systems, all designed to facilitate high-volume screening requirements.

As part of GE Healthcare’s campaign to accelerate diagnosis and therapies for cancer, it has developed a new contrast agent designed for imaging angiogenesis called the F18 Angio radioactive PET. The new agent tracks the process of angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels in the body, which are formed during wound healing, but also as cancerous tumors recruit blood vessels to sustain accelerated growth. The theory is that a molecular imaging agent that binds to angiogenesis could help physicians locate tumors.

Two new versions of the EMC Celerra platform are available. The mid-tier EMC Celerra NS350 and EMC Celerra NS704 integrated systems are the storage foundation of an IP-based information lifecycle management (ILM) strategy.

The newest offering in the InDex suite of services is InDex Link. The service enables clinicians to directly share patient exams across multiple healthcare systems and all PACS DICOM platforms — linking only the intended patient studies without sharing direct access to the institution’s complete digital environments. The InDex Link offering from InSiteOne securely transmits exams between any provider’s PACS systems without requiring re-archiving of studies.

GMAS EE allows facilities to share cardiology, radiology and other digital images across sites. By being able to share images with other institutions and safely store patient cases for years, physicians will have the ability to improve patient care, advance research and reduce administrative costs.
IBM’s latest GMAS solution combines the power of IBM services, servers and storage with Bycast StorageGRID software in a manner designed to deliver a high-performance and resilient enterprise fixed-content storage solution.

CARESTREAM Information Management Solutions provide lifecycle management of data, while enabling access to images and information stored in many platforms and locations across a healthcare enterprise or regional community. The portfolio includes enterprise information management (EIM), hosted information management (HIM) and regional information management (RIM).

The Xeleris 2 is an advanced nuclear medicine review workstation. One noteworthy feature of the system is XFL (Xeleris Floating License), which allows the ability for clinicians to read and process nuclear medicine images from PCs throughout the institution.
The workstation reportedly simplifies clinicians’ workflow by allowing the replacement and removal of other devices. It also updates other GE nuclear medicine cameras, while maintaining compatibility with aged archive media.

The FAS3050 and FAS3020 systems are designed to meet the needs of the fast growing mid-tier enterprise storage market. FAS3000 series systems are suited for enterprise application infrastructures, such as database, medical archiving, e-mail/messaging, home directory consolidation and disaster recovery solutions. Designed with enterprise serviceability, continuous availability, and easy manageability in mind, the FAS3000 series increases reliability, simplifies maintenance and reduces storage infrastructure complexity.

The Terason t3000 Ultrasound System is based upon proprietary Teratech Architecture, which combines the front-end Fusion Processor with PC-based back-end data processing. It runs as a Windows application on a laptop computer and can be instantly converted from a portable unit to a cart-based system.
According to the manufacturer, the Fusion Processor is the only fully custom-designed, integrated ultrasound chip set in the world. It enables ultrasound image processing power in a small system.
