Kodak has received clearance from the FDA for several specialized functions that enable radiologists to diagnose images generated by cardiac CT exams. These specialized functions include: cardiac review and analysis; cardiac cage removal in 3-D imaging; and cardiac calcium scoring. These features will be integrated into the next version of KODAK CARESTREAM PACS software, which is scheduled for commercial availability in mid-2006.

Mayo Clinic has announced it has developed a series of MRI devices that make it easier to diagnose injuries and diseases that affect wrists, forearms, elbows, hands and fingers. Mayo worked with IBM Engineering and Technology Services and IBM Design Consulting Services on this solution. With recent FDA approval, the group plans to market these devices to other medical centers nationwide.

System Release 5.30.1 with new and improved administrative tools, enterprise workflow and open standards support will be demonstrated.
Integrated Administrative Toolset is a Web admin tools that includes a rules-based QC Workstation, LDAP support and deletion control policies.
The Enhanced Enterprise Workflow tool includes Personal Content Manger with JPEG2000; Exam Worklist with enterprise-wide folder views; and bidirectional dictation API.

Significant upgrades have been made to the new z.one ultrasound system. The upgrades include three new transducers, calculation packages and a proprietary technology, Zone Speed Technology or ZST, to automatically recognize and adjust for the differences in body sound propagation, which is possible only due to Zone Sonography technology. The new transducers are available in spring 2006, while the new clinical ultrasound upgrades will be available this summer.

The Sony FilmStation 14 x 17-inch dry film imager is the only imager of its kind that can be installed either in the upright vertical position or horizontally. It outputs film in less than one minute, and when connected with another FilmStation imager can print up to 130 films per hour.
