July 16, 2007 – The Beekley Corp. recently announced the introduction of Blossoms, a line of flower shaped, nature inspired Mammography SPOTS designed to help the technologist relax the patient and obtain optimal positioning in screening mammography.

The new Blossoms markers were inspired by recent studies by Rutgers University, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, which confirm that flowers have an overwhelmingly positive impact on a person’s mood.

July 16, 2007 – Patient Comfort Systems Inc. recently introduced a new infection-resistant design with permanent antimicrobial agents for its Tempur medical imaging table pads and positioners, created in part to address the growing threat of infections spread by contact.

To maximize infection control further, Patient Comfort Systems pads incorporate ultra-strong fabric along with sewn and welded seams to protect core material from bodily fluids. This construction also reportedly prevents cracking and tearing at the pad corners, where exposure is greatest.

July 13, 2007 — A hospital efficiency study conducted by Rapid Modeling of Cincinnati, OH has determined that strategically placed, wall-mounted workstations holding IT equipment, patient medications, supplies and medical devices have a greater potential to increase nursing staff productivity and offer significant benefits over the “central nursing station and carts” concept commonly in use at most US hospitals.
