LighthouseMD, a leading provider of revenue cycle management, integrated practice management and EMR solutions for medical groups, recently announced the CareTracker EMR.
The Web-based electronic medical records system allows physicians and nurses to enhance patient care and reduce medical errors using more than 270,000 clinical data elements such as patient symptoms, medical histories, diagnoses, clinical tests and therapies.

Tensys Medical has released the latest generation of the T-Line, the TL-150Plus.
The TL-150Plus provides anesthesiologists with noninvasive beat-to-beat blood pressure giving early warning of hemodynamic changes and allowing tighter control of pressure by showing the beat-to-beat response to intervention.
The T-line is an innovative continuous, noninvasive blood pressure monitor, which provides accuracy clinically equivalent to that of an invasive arterial cannula. It utilizes a mechanical bracelet for optimal positioning of the sensor above the radial artery.

Mindray received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Hypervisor VI, a central monitoring system.
The BC-3200 three-part differential hematology analyzer is the first automatic diagnostic laboratory instrument introduced by Mindray targeting the North American market.

A new neonatal-infant tracheostomy tube holder that features a friendly duck pattern, reportedly easy fastener tabs and a moisture repellent lining is being introduced by Dale Medical Products Inc.

Baxa Corp. recently announced the expansion of its Valimed System, which uses enhanced photoemission spectroscopy to quickly validate high-risk medication admixtures, as well as returned narcotics to provide an increased level of patient safety.
ValiMed compares a medication's spectroscopic signature to the Medication Signature Library and returns a "validated" or "not validated" result, reportedly requiring no user interpretation.

Mediware Information Systems has introduced its new BloodSafe system, a 510(k)-cleared, bedside point-of-care, transfusion administration package designed to extend blood-safety controls outside the blood bank. It consists of remote release refrigerators that make units immediately and safely available throughout the hospital and powerful hand-held devices to verify blood units transfused in surgery or at the bedside. The BloodSafe system is available either as a stand-alone solution or as a fully integrated component of the transfusion-management system, HCLL.

Cook Medical announced today the availability of the Cook Turbo-Flo 8 French Double Lumen Central Venous Catheter, designed to produce increased flow rates.
This catheter employs Cook’s patented antibiotic impregnation process, infusing minocycline and rifampin on both the internal and external surfaces of the catheter to provide increased protection against catheter-related bloodstream infections.

The VitalCare 506NV3 series uses ComfortCuff measure-on-inflation that quickly deflates once the systolic pressure is reached.
This series is now available with TurboTemp fast predictive temperature and a choice of Nellcor’s Oximax or Criticare’s DOX pulse oximeters.
New features include bidirectional communication with central stations and hospital networks. Patient vital signs can be transmitted as spot-check or as continuous monitoring. Blood pressure measurements can be requested remotely from a central station.

Masimo’s Plethysmograph Variability Index (PVI), a noninvasive measurement that quantifies changes in the plethysmographic waveform derived from pulse oximetry, can provide clinicians with a noninvasive way to monitor functional hemodynamics in their patients.
Clinicians who have evaluated PVI believe this technology will prove to be a valuable clinical tool with significant advantages over currently available indicators of changes in functional hemodynamics that are invasive, operator dependent, often inaccurate and expensive.

Aspect Medical Systems’ FDA-cleared BIS VIEW Monitoring system is the company’s newest stand-alone monitor.
The BIS VIEW offers customers a compact design and simplified operation for lower acuity clinical environments with limited room for monitoring equipment.
BIS monitoring may be used as an aid in monitoring the effects of certain anesthetic agents and may be associated with a reduction in primary anesthetic use and a reduction in emergence and recovery time.
