Research published in the academic journal, Chemical Communications, reveals that this new compound could be used in a 'chemically-sensitive MRI scan' to help identify the extent of progression of diseases such as cancer, without the need for intrusive biopsies.

August 21, 2007 — Viking Systems Inc. a designer, manufacturer and marketer of high-performance laparoscopic vision systems announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Tuebingen Scientific Medical GmbH, a Germany-based developer of articulating surgical instrumentation for minimally invasive surgery (MIS).

Tuebingen Scientific Medical markets its instruments under the brand name 'Radius'. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
