May 16, 2008 – At ASCs 2008, Armstrong Medical is featuring its Aluminum Auto-Locking Cart, which has an optional proximity reader designed to open the cart by simply waving a card.

The proximity reader will read most low frequency HID Prox Cards (125 kHz). The cart also features an auto-lock timer for anywhere from 1 to 998 minutes.

The cart features lightweight aluminum construction, aluminum mounting tracks, stabilizing frame and 5-inch swivel casters.

May 15, 2008 – McKesson has acquired Vivalog LLC, a provider of Web-based solutions, including its MyPACS.net medical imaging reference site, that enable radiologists, cardiologists and other imaging specialists to organize and share image and reference case information needed during daily practice.

This portfolio extends current hospital imaging and information management systems with reference case management and clinical conferencing capabilities that result in multimedia knowledge repositories, said McKesson.

Pedigo’s iStand has an adjustable height range of 69 to 124 inches and features a stainless steel pole, hooks and bag drop prevention device. The iStand weighs 27 pounds and has a low-profile base. It is sturdy enough to safely support several infusion pumps and monitors, the company said.
