TomoTherapy reported that the FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for its radiation therapy technology, TomoDirect, designed to complement helical tomotherapy and faster treatment planning.

The Fabius MRI employs the same user interface as Draeger’s Fabius GS, Fabius Tiro and Apollo machines, creating a uniform and consistent interface for the anesthesia provider wherever required.
The size of the MRI system often requires the anesthesia provider to be outside the room or some distance away from the device during an examination. To accommodate this, additional optical alarm displays (LEDs) at the top of the system provide visual indication for all alarm conditions for the safety of the patient in this specialized environment.

Two new FUJIFILM Computed Radiography (FCR) systems – FCR XL-2 and FCR XC-2 – are customized to meet the imaging needs of private practices, including orthopedic, chiropractic, internal medicine and urgent care facilities and are now available.

September 30, 2008 - Hologic Inc. received FDA 510(k) clearance for the R2 Quantra volumetric breast density assessment tool, a software application for use with Hologic digital mammography systems as an automated method for assessing breast density.

October 1, 2008 - Nuance Communications Inc. said it has acquired Philips Speech Recognition Systems (PSRS), a business unit of Royal Philips Electronics.
