March 24, 2009 - Cianna Medical said today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued two patents that are directly related to its SAVI multi-catheter brachytherapy device for the treatment of breast cancer.

Voyager Imaging's Web streaming technology aims to provide fast delivery of images to referring doctor desktops through low-to-medium bandwidth connectivity. Using the Voyager workstation as a base, doctors have the advantage of a highly configurable and functional workstation, that will quickly display images even in a poor network connectivity environment, according to the company.

Voyager PACS has implemented its Data Replication and Mirror Function that provides data and operational redundancy for imaging and hospital centers. This means that data loss can be prevented if there is an unrecoverable failure, as well providing business continuity if there is any server downtime at a site.

March 24, 2009 – Mark G. Watson will become the RSNA’s new executive director on April 1, 2009.

Watson comes to the position with nearly 20 years of experience working in key capacities at RSNA and has served as the Society’s interim executive director since September 2008.

March 24, 2009 - Frost & Sullivan has awarded GE Healthcare with the 2009 Growth Strategy Leadership of the Year Award in Medical Imaging.

The award is based upon Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis of the medical imaging market segment, which recognizes the growth path that GE embarked upon following its acquisition of Dynamic Imaging (DI) in October 2007.
