June 9, 2014 — Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. announced the release of its Celesteion system for positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging. The Celesteion is currently pending 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

June 9, 2014 — After conducting a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study on memory and categorization, researchers have shown for the first time that these mathematical models seem to correctly explain processing in the medial temporal lobes, a region of the brain associated with long-term memory that is disrupted by memory disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. The findings were published in The Journal of Neuroscience.

The prominent role a single enzyme plays in cancer imaging has eluded researchers for years, but not anymore. This discovery could pave new avenues in nuclear medicine.

June 9, 2014 — ImaginAb Inc., in collaboration with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, will present at the 2014 annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) initial clinical data with an anti-PSMA (prostate-specific membrane antigen) recombinant antibody fragment (a "minibody") derived from the huJ591 monoclonal antibody, in patients with metastatic prostate cancer.

At the 2014 Annual Meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), June 7-11, at the St. Louis Convention Center, Siemens Healthcare will debut syngo.via for molecular imaging — a reading solution that transforms large amounts of data into comprehensive results, allowing for organ-based reading [1], reference-based quantification [2] and evidence-based reporting [3] of disease.
