Funding will further build upon proven quantitative imaging biomarkers for brain tumor treatment

Imaging Biometrics and Medical College of Wisconsin Awarded NIH Grant

September 9, 2019 — Imaging Biometrics LLC (IB), in collaboration with the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), has received a $2.75 million, five-year grant award from the National Institutes of Health(NIH) - National Cancer Institute (NCI).

Principal investigator Kathleen Schmainda, Ph.D., MCW professor of biophysics, will leverage her foundational work in perfusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technologies to more precisely identify brain tumor burden and provide earlier treatment response assessment over what is currently available. The grant’s objectives also include incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for streamlined and automated processing. As a participant on this grant, IB will utilize the funding to assist in the development, translation, and commercialization of the software solutions and prepare them for widespread clinical adoption.

Imaging Biometrics, a subsidiary of IQ-AI Ltd., develops and provides visualization and analytical solutions that enable clinicians to better diagnose and treat diseases with greater confidence. Through close collaboration with researchers and clinicians, sophisticated advancements are translated into platform-independent software plug-ins which can extend the base functionality of workstations, imaging systems, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) or medical viewers. By design, IB’s advanced visualization software seamlessly integrates into routine workflows.
