Program will allow 250 U.S.-based fellows and residents to join SCCT at no charge for one year

SCCT, Toshiba Medical, partnership, residents-in-training

April 5, 2017 — The Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and Toshiba Medical announced a new partnership dedicated to providing career development opportunities for radiology fellows and residents in the United States. Toshiba Medical’s support will allow 250 U.S.-based fellows and residents to join SCCT at no charge for one year, enhancing their early career opportunities and building their awareness of the growing contributions of cardiovascular computed tomography.

“Fellows and Residents who join SCCT through this program will now have access to a full range of opportunities,” said SCCT Immediate Past President Jonathon A. Leipsic, M.D., FSCCT. “In this formative stage of their training, they will be exposed to exciting and important technology, high-quality educational opportunities and recent research from the Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and access to our global community.”

“These fellows and residents will have opportunities for committee service, gain presentation experience, and interact with senior physicians and scientists on important research and educational initiatives,” said SCCT Membership Committee Chair and SCCT Past President Matthew J. Budoff, M.D., FSCCT. “Our field has advanced especially rapidly due to extraordinary doctors working with visionary corporate partners towards excellence in patient care. This is also an important opportunity for the fellows and residents to recognize the importance of forming productive working relationships with industry partners early in their careers.”
