July 27, 2009 - TeraRecon Inc., a leader in advanced visualization and decision support solutions for medical imaging and a partner of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT), and Agfa HealthCare released the first cardiac CT review and reporting solution which conforms to the SCCT’s published guidelines* for cardiac CT interpretation.

The release of the integration and reporting solution was announced by Agfa HealthCare and TeraRecon on July 17th, 2009, during the well-attended Manufacturers’ Session of the SCCT’s 4th Annual Scientific Meeting, held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, from July 16-19, 2009.

TeraRecon’s industry-leading iNtuition cardiovascular advanced visualization tools, combined with Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX® Cardiovascular imaging and reporting solution, provides physicians with the first cardiac CT image analysis and reporting solution that satisfies the rigorous requirements and many of the optional recommendations set forth within these guidelines.

Daniel S. Berman, MD, FSCCT of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and immediate past-president of SCCT, explained, "Standardizing reporting helps ensure that all aspects of the studies are interpreted in a manner that will be understood by referring physicians, clearly communicating the test results."

Agfa HealthCare’s IMPAX Cardiovascular is a robust solution for cardiology and vascular imaging and reporting that consolidates and provides a single point of access for multimodality studies.
