June 26, 2008 - Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. entered into a strategic business agreement with PinnacleHealth, a non-profit hospital and healthcare system in Central Pennsylvania, agreeing that for the next five years, 85 percent of PinnacleHealth’s newly acquired medical imaging systems will come from Toshiba, including CT, interventional labs, X-ray, ultrasound and MRI.

The first phase of purchases include $14.5 million in Toshiba medical Imaging equipment, including five MR systems, five CT systems, 11 Ultrasound systems and eight X-ray systems. One of the CT systems to be acquired is the Toshiba Aquilion ONE, the world’s first dynamic volume CT system with 320 detector rows of coverage. It is the said to be the only CT system that can image up to 16 cm of anatomical coverage in one rotation.

Through this business agreement, Toshiba will also provide services such as consulting engagements, productivity and efficiency solutions and marketing services for the hospital.
