Virtual Imaging Inc. received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its new high-resolution digital acquisition system, FluoroPro, which reportedly provides a flexible and inexpensive solution without sacrificing features and performance.

The system consists of a high-resolution CCD camera, an image processor and interface kit. The camera is specifically designed for Fluoroscopic imaging and can reportedly be integrated to any image intensifier to provide excellent image quality in low light conditions.

FluoroPro leverages the processing power and standard construction of today's PC computers; as PC models and configurations change, there is no effect on the FluoroPro system. FluoroPro can replace conventional spot film techniques. Through a fully customizable GUI, FluoroPro offers the ability to view digital fluoroscopic images immediately, providing excellent image quality.

The digital imaging system can be integrated into any new or existing RF room. The system is fully DICOM 3.0 compliant, with worklist, print, send, write to CDR/DVD-R in DICOM format and media read/write.
