February 28, 2023 — Intelerad Medical Systems, a leading global provider of enterprise medical imaging solutions, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Robert Petrocelli as the company’s Chief Technology Officer.

The strategic hire further advances Intelerad’s ongoing commitment to scale its technology solutions in the public cloud era. As demand for managing, sharing and analyzing patient data increases for providers, so does the importance of providing a secure and integration-friendly imaging system. Petrocelli will be a key player as Intelerad continues to expand its footprint while supporting some of the world's largest healthcare and hospital systems.

“We are thrilled to have Robert join our executive leadership team,” said Mike Lipps, CEO, Intelerad. “Robert’s deep understanding of medical imaging and leadership experience will elevate our ability to provide more robust solutions and better patient outcomes for our valued clients.”

Petrocelli has over 30 years of experience in medical imaging and technology innovation, including an extensive blend of expertise in PACS and data storage. He will lead nearly 300 employees that are part of Intelerad’s Research & Development, Information Technology and Engineering teams around the globe. Under Petrocelli’s new leadership, the team will focus on enhancing Intelerad’s software capabilities, driving stronger alignment between client needs and company offerings, while supporting the expansion of the company’s product lines.

“By joining the Intelerad team, I see a prime opportunity to combine my imaging and cloud scale development and operational experience to improve the practice of healthcare,” Petrocelli said. “I’m eager to build on Intelerad’s nuanced understanding of how scalable medical imaging platforms are the connecting link across the image-sharing ecosystem.”
