Jan. 22, 2026 — The nomination deadline for the 2026 RSNA Rising Star Award is approaching.  The Rising Star Award is designed to honor RSNA members for the work they are contributing to the field of radiology. 

Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 30, 2026.

RSNA seeks to recognize early career radiologists that have advanced radiology education through other channels outside of RSNA.

Eligibility and Nomination Criteria

The 2026 nomination cycle maintains a focus on early-career professionals, with eligibility limited to RSNA members who are no more than five years post-residency. Candidates may be employed by academic institutions with teaching hospitals or may practice in broader medical or private settings.

Self-nominations as well as nominations of your qualified colleagues are encouraged. Nominees will be required to apply to be considered for the award.

Submitted applications must include personal statements and demonstrate experience and achievements in the following areas:

  • Community engagement
  • Leadership
  • Education administration
  • Speaking engagements
  • Volunteering with RSNA committees
  • Private practice administration
  • Leadership roles within hospitals
  • Leadership skills and leadership development
  • Involvement in community education engagement and curriculum development

Award recipients will receive the opportunity to participate in the Douglas W. MacEwan Rising Star Track, established to strengthen support and development of early-career radiologists.

Additional award benefits include sponsorship from RSNA staff, guidance on best practices for presentations and volunteer service, name and biography inclusion in RSNA EdCentral, and opportunities for consideration as faculty for RSNA education activities.

Nominations must be submitted by Jan. 30, 2026.
