March 13, 2007 - CDW Healthcare recently announced that it has signed an agreement with Barco to build and distribute integrated medical imaging solutions, reportedly providing advanced visualization and analysis of CT, MR and PET image workstations from HP and IBM.

The agreement includes Barco's Coronis and Nio lines of diagnostic imaging displays, Barco's advanced visualization software for 3D viewing and the optional Nio and Coronis LCD display lines, ranging from two to five mega-pixels and displaying images in full color and grayscale.

Cedara Software and InSite One have recently created a partnership in which Cedara will provide its InDex Web for InSite One, which includes a Web-based viewing package for exams stored in its client archives, allowing referring physicians to access results and reports.

Matrox Graphics will display its Matrox MEDT Series and Matrox AuroraVXT Series controller boards designed for medical imaging at the PACS 2007 conference, March 20-23 in San Antonio, TX.

The Matrox MED Series display controller boards include display configurations for landscape and portrait modes ranging from two through five mega pixels and includes a variety of grayscale and color models with analog and digital display support. The Matrox AuroraVX Series can power up to three displays, one navigation console display, along with two twin imaging displays from a single board.

NovaRad has recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)clearance for reading and interpreting mammography studies for its NovaPACS which is used for the distribution and viewing of mammography studies, including window,level,zoom and volumetric measurements.

InSite One recently unveiled its new disaster recovery data migration program, InDex Recovery, designed to allow healthcare clients without data protection or who have older archive systems to use the technology, featuring an onsite gateway with a single copy of the data offsite.

Rogan-Delft recently introduced its 64-bit View Pro-X v3.0 software, a standalone workstation that supports the Microsoft Windows 64-bit operating system and is reportedly capable of loading studies with about 10,000 images, which can be used with applications such as CT angiography run-offs.

Mercury Computer Systems will exhibit its Web-based Visage PACS that includes features designed to enable flexible arrangements of multiple viewers, options for side-by-side image comparison and hanging protocols.

Mercury has also released improved capabilities of its Visage CS Thin Client/Server containing a cardiac analysis within the PACS workflow.

Merge Healthcare will showcase its mammography workstation application, Merge Mammo version 7.0, featuring enhanced full-resolution and inverted image viewing with new algorithm-driven breast-image isolation that immediately fits an image to the display.

March 12, 2007 — Medtronic Inc. has announced that its new REAL-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) devices have received FDA approval for children and teenagers ages 7 to17. Previously approved for only adult patients, Medtronic's REAL-Time CGM will soon be available in specifically designed pediatric models of the MiniMed Paradigm REAL-Time System and Guardian REAL-Time System.

March 12, 2007 - Agfa HealthCare will present an extended line-up of digital mammography solutions aimed at helping healthcare organizations take their mammography workflows from analog to digital, providing enhanced image quality, at ECR 2007, March 9 through March 13 in Vienna, Austria.
