May 31, 2007 - The week of June 3 has been declared “Molecular Imaging Week,” which coincides with SNM’s 54th Annual Meeting. In addition, the District of Columbia issued a “letter of welcome” to SNM for holding the world’s largest event for molecular imaging and nuclear medicine professionals in the city.

May 31, 2007 - According to a study released today in the June 1 issue of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, the official journal of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, women with breast cancer who receive higher doses of radiation with IMRT each day can reduce their treatment time by two weeks without increasing side effects.

May 31, 2007 – United Medical Systems recently announced that it will work with Kubtec to introduce the XPERT Mobile radiography system for imaging breast biopsy cores and surgically excised tissue specimens, reportedly the first specimen radiography system available with an eight-by-eight inch camera.

May 30, 2007 – SenoRx, a medical device company focused on the development, manufacture and sale of products used to diagnose and treat breast cancer recently announced that it was named Outstanding Medical Device Company by the AeA Orange County and Inland Empire Council at the 14th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards in Aliso Viejo, CA.

May 30, 2007 – TomoTherapy Inc. recently announced that two of its Hi-Art treatment systems have been installed on-site at the University Hospital Antwerp in Madison, WI.

Through the University Radiotherapy Center, both member hospitals will use the Hi-Art treatment systems to treat cancer patients with advanced image-guided, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IG/IMRT). Through collaboration with TomoTherapy, the machines will also be available for training physicians and hospital staff while still providing uninterrupted patient care.

May 30, 2007 – Quest Diagnostics Inc., the leading provider of diagnostic testing, information and services, announced today that it plans to complete its previously announced acquisition of AmeriPath, Inc. on May 31, 2007.

AmeriPath is a leading national provider of physician-based anatomic pathology, dermatopathology and molecular diagnostic services to physicians, hospitals, clinical laboratories and surgery centers. A team of sub-specialized pathologists and Ph.D. scientists provide medical expertise, diagnostic quality, and personal consultation services.

Zido is available in various widths and heights and provides flexibility in creating a cart for small spaces. The cool grey Zido shelves have a weight capacity of 50 lbs and the entire cart has a 150 lb. overall weight limit.

May 30, 2007 - Cedara Software, a Merge Healthcare company, announced an agreement with Biotronics3D Ltd. that grants the London-based software company a license to market C4 enabled versions of its 3Dnet Suite family of 3-D visualization software. Under the agreement, Biotronics3D will distribute C4 enabled Biotronics3D applications to OEMs that are adopting the C4 framework and other C4 clinical application modules from Cedara and its other partners.
