December 15, 2022 — Deciphex, a provider of pathology software and services, has announced the launch of it Digital Research Pathology Platform, Patholytix 3.0. The new platform, which aims to revolutionize the tools available to research pathologists globally, is designed to overcome the limits of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software that allows users to effectively manage samples and associated data.

The launch of Patholytix 3.0 means that users can review and score non-clinical studies on a single platform — for the first time, resulting in faster pathology reviews, with less risk of error. The company noted that findings can be viewed as text in the grid, or geo-located to exactly where the finding is in the slide, a capability not possible with old Viewer + LIMS system workflows. This removes the risk of human error with data input and the need to manually match a slide with its findings in the LIMS systems. The company shared platform benefits for pathologists, including: easy transcription of pathology reports; speeding up of review process for drug safety reviews; ability to allow pathologists to keep their study findings (for glass, digital or hybrid studies) in one place; and speed of findings sharing by removing the need to sort, count or ship slides, as the primary review pathologist emails the findings for peer review.

In detailing its new platform, the company highlighted features that impact workflow and offer simpler and more expedient report creation. It further noted that this is the first time that a digital pathology platform has enabled the review and scoring of drug discovery studies. Now, users can review these studies digitally, while reaping the benefits of a more efficient workflow.

A Dublin, Ireland-based, software company, Deciphex focuses on developing digital pathology-based software and services for clinical and research pathology, driving diagnostic quality and productivity. In September, during the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Annual Meeting, held in Chicago, IL, the company announced the launch of its Diagnexia service in the United States.
