Concierge Workflow enables focus on clinical tasks, increasing physician efficiency, productivity and job satisfaction

Concierge Workflow diverts non-productive, non-clinical tasks from the radiologist worklist, identifying those duties and allocating them to a separate worklist for ancillary clinical and clerical staff to execute

November 21, 2019 – A new solution from Intelerad Medical Systems boosts the efficiency and productivity of the radiology reading enterprise by intelligently managing the reading workflow. Concierge Workflow diverts non-productive, non-clinical tasks from the radiologist worklist, identifying those duties and allocating them to a separate worklist for ancillary clinical and clerical staff to execute. By eliminating distractions and interruptions that siphon valuable time and energy, Concierge Workflow also contributes to higher job satisfaction, helping to alleviate physician burnout.

Available with Intelerad’s Clario SmartWorklist, Concierge Workflow provides seamless clinical continuity between reading radiologists, specialists, referring physicians and clinical staff, enabling better turnaround time and ultimately allowing healthcare organizations to provide superior patient care.

“Concierge Workflow enables radiologists to focus on the patient care and diagnostic tasks that they are uniquely trained to perform,” said Chris Wood, chief technology officer for Intelerad. “We have optimized the workflow between Professional Radiology Assistants and the Radiologists. The result is a significant reduction in diagnostic turnaround time and better workload balancing.”

While the powerful assignment engine in Clario SmartWorklist constantly evaluates and prioritizes cases in the reading queue in real time, Concierge Workflow identifies those cases that require additional legwork from support or administrative staff. It moves those cases back and forth between the separate reading and ancillary worklists, while maintaining tracking and priority monitoring to ensure that service-level agreement (SLA) requirements and STAT escalation needs are met.

"We have achieved a 10 percent productivity gain, saving each radiologist 5-6 minutes per hour on average, by leveraging Intelerad’s Concierge Workflow to divert administrative and compliance tasks to a central radiology-support call center,” said Worth Saunders, regional VP of operations for Radiology Partners and President of Canopy Partners. “It’s a triple win – the radiologists are thrilled, the patients receive superior care, and the business realizes a huge competitive advantage.”
