DR Systems will be exhibiting two newly available products for its highly rated Unity v|Series medical imaging solution at RSNA (Radiological Society of North America) 2012. Also on display will be the Unity v|Series RIS (Radiology Information System), an imaging solution running in virtualized environments.
Among the newly available products is the new Unity v|Series ZDA — a zero-download, remote physician viewing software that allows viewing from mobile devices such as smart tablets and smart phones. The software supports the Apple iPhone and many other widely used smart phone devices.
DR Systems will also display the Unity v|Series Z3D (Zero-Download 3D) advanced imaging viewer. Reading physicians and referring physicians can access advanced image processing from virtually any location using software inherently present on most computers. This integrated solution supports MIP (maximum intensity project), MPR (multiplanar reconstruction), and 3-D volume rendering using server-side rendering and browser-based viewers.
Also on exhibit will be DR Systems’ cloud-based, complete certified eHR for Meaningful Use.
“This is one of the only solutions available for meaningful use (MU) compliance for radiologists and other specialists who do not control their information systems in hospitals and imaging centers,” said Murray A. Reicher, M.D., FACR, chairman of DR Systems.
DR Systems has enrolled more anesthesiologists in its MU compliance program than all other vendors combined, Reicher said, adding: “Like radiologists, anesthesiologists thought they were left out of MU, but now they are adopting our eHR because they see an easy, affordable route to MU compliance, while gaining a tool for far better patient engagement.”
eMix, DR Systems' cloud-based solution for image sharing and report delivery, will also be unveiling its new Instant Sender platform at RSNA. Instant Sender allows any patient, doctor or facility to quickly and confidentially deliver medical imaging exams, reports and other medical information to any recipient. The recipient can view images/information using a zero-download viewer, or route to a picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
DR Systems also will be exhibiting its flexible Unity v|Series RIS, along with the full complement of modular Unity CVIS (Cardiovascular Information System), PACS and reporting options. A multisite practice can employ a single unified v|Series RIS worklist to launch and drive one or more PACS. It is also possible to launch the v|Series RIS/Reporting system from a third-party PACS. The company will also be demonstrating the Unity system in virtualized environments, showing virtualization of both server and desktop infrastructures.
