CIVCO Features IGRT Localization System, New Breast Board

The ACCULOC system provides high-accuracy localization through an internal reference system of three gold fiducial markers. The ACCULOC software imports the marker images and outputs both the couch moves and final couch coordinates needed to position the target precisely at the isocenter.
CIVCO teamed up with Kodak Health Group to package ACCULOC with Kodak’s 2000RT CR Plus system, which provides images that display the implanted gold fiducial markers for target positioning. CIVCO representatives also noted that the company plans to come out with carbon fiducials, which are more dense than gold and are better imaged.
CIVCO-MEDTEC also introduced the CQUAL, a new carbon fiber breast board that sports an improved lift mechanism, making it more adjustable and durable using the CIVCO-SINMED elevation technique. CIVCO-MEDTEC also re-engineered the arm cuffs to make them more durable and more comfortable for the patient.
