GE Healthcare will showcase several new interventional cardiology products during RSNA.
The SnapShot Pulse reduces a patient’s X-ray exposure time by up to 70 percent. It works through a process called “prospective triggered gating,” turning CT X-ray on and off at desired times during a patient’s heart rate cycle. In standard cardiac CT exams, the X-ray is on for the duration of a scan, even during periods when a patient’s heart is at an undesirable phase.
GE’s Discovery Dimension offers high-definition PET image processing, patient motion management and clinical productivity features. These features address motion, which significantly degrades lesion characterization PET/CT image quality.
The new LightSpeed VCT XT scanner can capture images of the heart and coronary arteries in as few as five heartbeats. It offers a multislice scanner to use step-and-shoot scanning, allowing the table to move from one location to the next to cover the entire volume of the patient’s heart. It also features VolumeShuttle, which addresses the need for wide coverage for both dynamic angiography and perfusion.
GE’s Senographe Essential allows digital mammography for precision imaging in a single exposure. The enlarged detector accommodates large breast images without degradation of small breast images. Digital capabilities optimize workflow and connectivity, while providing 3D images and capacity for interventional mammography procedures.
The Voluson E8 advanced ultrasound technology platform will also be displayed, featuring sonography-based volume computer aided diagnosis and an automated imaging tool to more easily acquire volume images of the fetal heart.
