October 30, 2007 - In a time when there is growing concern about the dramatic increase in cases of antibiotic-resistant staph infections, Datalux Corp. offers an all-in-one computing system specifically designed to help minimize the threat of bacterial infections in hospitals and other healthcare settings.

The company says there are three ways in which its IPIX help hospitals control infections. They use an antimicrobial additive in all exterior plastics. They have a sealed case, which allows the IPIX to be wiped clean with hospital disinfectants. The IPIX is also a fan-less computer, which prevents drawing in contaminants and re-depositing them.

All Datalux IPIX computers include an antimicrobial additive that prevents the growth of microbes on plastic surfaces. When bacteria contact the surface of the IPIX computer, silver ions are released from the plastic additive and interact with the bacteria to prevent it from spreading, multiplying or surviving.

The Datalux IPIX Computer system combines a compact computer with a 17-inch or 20-inch display to create an integrated computer system for mobile computing.
