December 14, 2010 — A new line of compact computed radiography (CR) scanners, introduced at RSNA 2010, can be easily updated. The FireCR medical scanners can be quickly upgraded to higher speeds with a simple smart card update, giving users flexibility to start with an entry?level scanner and increase productivity as their needs change.
With the launch at RSNA, the FireCR product line also will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. FireCR scanners can be configured for most medical and chiropractic applications and are designed for full DICOM connectivity, allowing users to capture high-quality X-ray images of any body part. FireCR and QuantorMed imaging software are general radiography products and not approved for mammography, however.
The FireCR medical product line includes a range of compact, portable CR readers designed for specific clinical applications, while a separate product line serves the veterinary market. Products include: 80 CR scanner for hospitals, back-up units and private clinics; 60 CR scanner for private clinics and high-volume practices; 40 CR for mid-volume practices and 20 CR for lower-volume practices.
The scanners feature 3Disc’s QuantorMed imaging software, which provides optimized image acquisition, processing and management capabilities. Autocalibration technology ensures stability and consistency. The FireCR also features a wall-mount option for facilities with limited space availability. At 5 inches deep and 65 pounds, it can fit in small X-ray rooms.
